BoostPrep is our choice for best overall HESI A2 prep course. Their course is very comprehensive and includes all of the tools and features you need to succeed.
They offer 2 different options when it comes to their HESI A2 prep:
- HESI Prep (Core): $49
- HESI Prep (Pro): $59
The biggest different between those 2 options is that the Core version ONLY includes the full-length exams and a question bank. The Pro version includes everything (prep course, flashcards, etc…).
The user interface is awesome. There is a main dashboard where you will find all of your materials. From there, you can easily navigate to wherever you need to go.
We really liked this setup because with the HESI A2 exam, not all sections are required. We were able to easily navigate to each individual section of the course.

Learning content is easy to understand and concise. We found that some of the other providers made their learning content hard to digest. This was NOT the case with BoostPrep.
All of the learning content was easy to understand and to the point. They did a good job of using examples to help with difficult concepts. There is an important vocab section at the top of each lesson and a key takeaways section at the bottom.
There are video summaries for all of the math content. These video summaries are video walkthroughs that summarize everything you just learned in the lesson.

Flashcards are a great tool to use for quick memorization and recall. The flashcards provided in the course are great. The flashcards are found within each specific section of the course. If you were studying for HESI A&P, you would find the A&P flashcards in that section of the course.
In addition, the flashcards are broken up into smaller sets, which makes studying easier. You can also “speed study” by reviewing the whole set at the bottom. This eliminates the need to go through each flashcard (if you want).

The full-length exams feel very realistic. One of the best features of the course is the full-length exams. These exams feel like the actual exam. They have the same number of questions and time limits as the real HESI A2.
After you finish the exam, you will be given full answer explanations for each question. These explanations are great for learning why an answer was correct or incorrect.
In addition, they also are using different types of questions, just like the real exam. There are also knowledge check quizzes after each lesson to help you learn even more.

BoostPrep Pros and Cons

- Full-length exams

Mometrix: Best Video Learning
Mometrix

- Free Trial: No
- Course Guarantee: 7-Day Risk Free
- Practice Questions: 3,200+
- Practice Exams: 40+
- Flashcards: 550+
- Diagnostic Exams: No
- Study Schedules: Yes
Best For
- Students looking to learn from video lessons
- Students wanting a monthly option
Not Recommended For
- Students who want a concise way to learn
Mometrix was our choice for best video learning. The Mometix course is a massive course with a ton of information.
They only offer 1 prep option:
- HESI A2 Prep: $79/Month
The interface is relatively basic. There is not much to the user interface provided. It feels very basic and sometimes confusing. However, if you are wanting something basic, then it should be fine.

The learning content is very thorough, almost too much. Some of the lessons feel excessive. While it is good to have a lot of information, it could take a while to get through each lesson with so much information.
There are videos for each lesson, which is a nice touch. However, this will add study time to your regiment as it takes more time to watch the videos.
It is also important to note that there is some content that is reused across multiple courses, which makes you question whether or not this content is specific to the HESI A2 exam.

The exams and practice questions get the job done. The questions seem well thought out and cover the topics tested on the actual exam. Some questions even have video explanations which was a nice touch.
They also mix in different question types (fill-in-blank, etc..) which is important when studying for the HESI.

Mometrix Pros and Cons
Pros
- Video lessons
- Monthly option
Cons
- Very expensive
- User interface is very basic
Nursehub: Best Bundle
NurseHub
Course Overview
- Price: $59.99
- Subscription Length: 3 Months
- Free Trial: Yes
- Course Guarantee: Partial Money Back
- Practice Questions: 4,900+
- Practice Exams: 40+
- Flashcards: No
- Diagnostic Exams: Yes
- Study Schedules: No
Best For
- Someone looking to study for both the HESI and the TEAS
Not Recommended For
- Someone who is just focusing on the HESI A2 exam
NurseHub was our choice for best bundle learning. NursheHub is unique in that they just offer a membership for all of their learning materials.
- NurseHub Membership: $59.99 for 3 Months
This 3 month membership grants you access to all of their TEAS, HESI, and Wonderlic materials. So, if you are prepping for both the TEAS and the HESI, this is a potential option for you.
The user interface is very confusing. Our biggest knock on NurseHub is definitely the user interface. It is very confusing and hard to navigate.
It took us a while to understand how to use the interface and navigate around the course.

The learning content is solid, but relatively bland. You will find lessons with videos in them, but everything feels kind of bland. There also seems to be some unnecessary information within the lessons.
With that being said, you can definitely make it work. Some of the videos seem long and could be shortened.

If you are studying for multiple exams (HESI & TEAS), this is the course for you. NurseHub is one of the only providers that allows you to study for both exams with one membership. This is a cool feature and can save you some time and money.
The practice exams and questions feel pretty solid. There were some questions in the full-length reading exams that felt a bit off (maybe AI written). However, they can get the job done.
The answer explanations were pretty solid as well. The math explanations were worked through step by step, which we appreciated.

NurseHub Pros and Cons
Pros
- Bundled learning (HESI & TEAS)
- Monthly subscription option
Cons
- Confusing interface
- Bland learning content
Other HESI A2 Courses We Tested
Here are our summary reviews of other HESI A2 prep courses we tested.
Study.com: Study.com offers their HESI prep course for $59.99 per month, which grants access to the entire site. The course includes 239 lessons, practice quizzes after each lesson, and hundreds of practice questions. However, it lacks full-length practice tests. For $59/month, we would avoid this one.
Nursing.com: Nursing.com offers its HESI prep course as part of a subscription, with the most popular plan costing $59 per month. Students also have access to other nursing courses (NCLEX, TEAS, etc..). The HESI course includes 49 video-based lessons and 10 downloadable PDF cheat sheets. While practice questions are included, they are not HESI-specific and the course lacks full-length HESI practice exams. For those reasons, we would avoid this one.
